Who Made January Vanish?

Wow!  I can’t believe it’s February!  I like January — first of all it’s my birthday month, and second, it’s the month you get to recover from the hustle and bustle of the holidays by sitting back with a glass  of wine, some hot wings, and a few episodes of “American Pickers” (my new obsession).   I love hitting the estate sales on weekends for new merchandise for the shop – oddities and curiosities that appeal to my love of the bizarre and unusual, items I hope appeal to you too.   Don’t get me wrong, I like antiques, but I’m not very knowledgeable on what’s hot and what’s not, and what has value.  I look more for the weird and unusual, like our “man on the toilet reading the paper” made entirely of nuts, bolts, nails, and wire.  Now that’s something with OV — “Oddity Value” (my own term).  Or the eyeball paperweight, the “Living Arm”, or the groovy 1970s drip candles.   I’ve decided February will be the MONTH OF THE ODDITIES — I need to up the ante with some reeeeally weird stuff, maybe some taxidermied items or creeeepy antique surgical instruments.  On the magic end, we plan to add some fantastic magic and carnival-themed posters, a few more novelties and some higher-end stage illusions, so keep an eye out for new merchandise!
